I have been "making things" all my life. Even as a small
child, born in Kentucky and raised on a farm, I was forever picking up bits and pieces and turning them into
something I thought was beautiful. I began making jewelry at age 22
and for many years was self-taught and just created for myself and
friends. It was a natural progression for this hobby and obsession to
become more serious, so I can share it with people I meet who love what I
do. I have taken classes at "Beads and Crystals", a lovely beads store
in Frederick, Maryland as well as The Deleplaine Art Center, also in
Frederick. I continue to learn every day, so watch my website grow and
my products change. I am also a high school science teacher, so my
background includes much time spent in the woods, on trails and in our
gorgeous national parks, where I'm inspired by the sublime intricacies
of our beautiful, big, blue and green world. Fortunately, I am also
able to travel a fair amount out of the country, so I'm always on the
lookout for inspiring ethnic and historical art and artifacts in the
villages, streets, museums and historical sites I visit.
